A Brazilian Buttlift Is Not for Everyone by Dr. Kenneth Benjamin Hughes, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon

The two main issues that may prevent a patient from getting a great result with a Brazilian buttlift are 1) not enough fat to harvest so that the buttlift can be performed 2) the patient has already had surgery before and wants additional volume or projection.

For this individual, the best option is buttock implant surgery.  Though implants come in many sizes and two shapes, round and oval, most patients will want at least a 300 cc implant and no more than a 600 cc implant.  The maximum volume of implant available is 712 cc, which is a round implant.  At least in Dr. Kenneth Hughes's practice, the round implant is much more popular though the dissection for an oval implant is easier as the lateral dissection does not have to continue as far.  Most patients want a round buttock with the illusion of hips rather than a long narrow buttock with more projection.

Having said that, Dr. Kenneth Hughes will perform whatever the patient wants as long as it is reasonable and that the patient is fully informed of the risks and complications of that decision.
